The circuit is located within the boundaries of Barcelona and offers excellent accessibility. Weather is also usually good. The layout features a variety of corners and is used for testing during the winter months. As all the teams are equally familiar with the course, their difference in strength becomes all the more obvious. Also, as the results here tend to be an indicator of the year in total, many teams try out completely new materials and packages; however, there are also many instances when this tactic has been seen to backfire.
