Jarno was like a raging bull as he charged up through the field from 20th on the grid to 12th in just one lap before going on to finish in 7th.

Despite an accident and other problems that saw him pit 4 times, Ralf fought on to finish just short of the points in 9th.

Jarno, who re-signed with Panasonic Toyota racing on a long-term contract of 3 years before the race. Also in his sights – the championship itself.

Ralf clocked the fastest lap of the race at 1'16''763, which put him into 4th at the time – clear evidence of the ever-improving speed of the TF106B.

317km/h! This was the speed marked by Jarno during the race at the maximum speed check point – the fastest of all 22 participants.

Refusing to let an accident deter him, Ralf rallied all he could to recover his position, his attitude motivating the staff around him.

Jarno stated that the TF106 was highly competitive and that there is a big chance that it will lead to a comeback in upcoming races.

Panasonic Toyota Racing has once again found their speed in the European summer, which should make things interesting in the remaining races.
