Istanbul Park Circuit
The Turkish Grand Prix, the product of a national project, has been newly added to the racing calendar from 2005. Its host, the Istanbul Circuit, was designed by Herman Tilke, who was also responsible for a host of other circuits such as Bahrain and Shanghai. The circuit features a good balance of high- and low-speed sectors, so the strategic point will be on which teams decide to prioritise for their aerodynamic settings. Another feature of the circuit is that, like Interlagos, it runs anti-clockwise, which is certain to place a great deal of strain on the drivers' necks. Being held in the peak of summer heat will also make it a very physically demanding Grand Prix.
Access
Located approximately 10 kilometres from the Ataturk International Airport. The trip from the airport will take about 20 minutes by car. From Istanbul City, it is approximately 20 kilometres and can be accessed by taxi or bus.
Climate
With low precipitation and low humidity, Istanbul summers are quite bearable. However, the sun's rays are very strong, so remember to pack sunscreen, hat, etc.
