Good fortune that gave Panasonic Toyota Racing their first podium shone again here at Sepang with Jarno taking home the first points of the season.

The Malaysian Grand Prix celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. The track was totally repaired ahead of the event, resulting in a far smoother ride.

Although cooler than the sweltering conditions in Australia, temperatures still hit the 30’s every day – tough on drivers and machines alike.

Glock, who made it through to the third session of qualifying for the second successive race. Celebrations for his 26th birthday were held on Thursday.

Just moments following the start, the race was over for Glock after a collision with a rival in corner 14 damaged Glock’s rear suspension beyond repair.

Trulli got off to a great start, highlighted by finishing at the top of the field in the first session of qualifying. Starting from third on the grid, he was looking good for a podium finish.

The crew’s great efforts and tight teamwork made up for Trulli’s slow start. Spirits lifted with every position regained.

Trulli shook off a strong challenge from McLaren to take the chequered flag in fourth. The next goal – a podium of course.
