Singapore

Singapore joins Valencia as a new face in the 2008 calendar, and not only is the first ever night-time event in Formula One, but is also the first race in Asia to be held on city streets. Running anti-clockwise, the course boasts a distance of approximately 5 kilometres consisting of 14 left and 10 right turns. Despite being a street circuit, Singapore also features a number of straights, including Raffles Boulevard where you can expect to see some exciting battles for position at speeds in excess of 300 km/h.

Access

The circuit is approximately 20 minutes by taxi from Changi Airport.

Climate

Singapore lies directly below the equator, and as such, it is both hot and humid, with an average annual maximum temperature close to 30 degrees C. However, as it is quite close to the sea, evenings can be comparatively pleasant.
