Circuit Guide

City: Fuji
Date: 12 Oct
Circuit length: 4.563km
Race distance: 67laps / 305.416km

Fuji International Speedway

The circuit is situated in the major tourist area of Mt Fuji-Hakone and had previously hosted 2 Grand Prix - in 1976 and 1977. Its most distinguishing feature is the 1.5 kilometer-long main straight as straights this long are now a rarity in current-day Formula One circuits. The first half consists of high-speed corners, while the latter half completes the picture with medium- and low-speed corners, with best opportunities for overtaking to be found in the final infield section.

Access

The circuit is accessible by train from Tokyo. The train trip takes approximately 1.5 hours followed by a further 20 minutes by taxi from Gotemba Station. On the race weekend, access is by shuttle bus from a nearby designated station/car park. (Airport: Narita)

Climate

The Grand Prix is held at a pleasant time of year in Fuji; however, it can become quite chilly if it rains. It can also get foggy, so it is probably best to take along an umbrella or waterproof jacket.
